Corruption in support of the U.N.

I grow weary of blogging about the futility of the U.N. - but the story just won't quit.

Although I wish the U.S. would quit the U.N.

The Duelfer report's case for war in Iraq

A lot of people are making hay of the recent Deulfer report. The big story being that they confirm that there are no WMDs in Iraq. Not to put too fine a point on it, but hindsight is 20/20. The best intelligence at the time said there were still WMDs in Iraq, post-facto intelligence has nothing to do with what went on prior. However, there are other issues that the report addresses that are quite possibly more important.

James Wolcott: serious ass****

Okay Mr. Wolcott - your statements here are one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Natural disasters decree that the "gods" are not pleased with current politics? Really? So, where were all the natural disasters in Hitler's Germany, or Stalin's Russia, or Pol Pot's Cambodia? And by your own definition, death by the design of man can't be counted. Did they have the occasional bad year? Really - well, then the god's must have been angry.

What an idiot.

Place your bets....

Now, for all you serious gamblin adicts, you can place your bets on science. For example, the odds of finding gravity waves before 2010: 100-1 odds. Finding life on Saturn or any of it's moons before 2010: 10,000-1.

marijuana and the brain

Marijuana may not be as healthy as proponents of legalizing it claim.
More

I'm more interested to know how alcohol, a much more serious drug is legalized and hippie lettuce is still illegal. I'm not for legalizing either mind you, I just wonder why the double standard? Is it just history? We've been baking for far less time than we've been getting drunk so it's more socially accepted?

Just curious.
